Orphanage 50

If you have watched the video Ukraine's Forgotten Children, then you have seen Orphanage 50. One of my favorite orphan warriors, Jane George, made a trek there awhile back and took many pictures of the children in hopes of getting them listed and slowly they have been, including a great many more of them yesterday. I will be trying to add those closest to aging-out to my side bar soon, but for now here is a peek at their sweet faces.

P.S. Simon, who needs a family to step forward and file paperwork for him before his birthday in October, now has a grant of over $10,000! That will go a long way in getting him home.

Aging-Out Children

These young men and women have only a short time left before they age-out of the system and can no longer be adopted. For many of them they need a family already in process to be able to make the deadline. If you or family you know is in process for an international adoption please consider if you might be able to make one of these children your own.

There is a desperate need for more families to come forward who are ready to adopt older children. In a family they could learn and grow and thrive. Left in the system they face either lifetime institutionalization in mental facilities with menial care or being thrown out on the streets with no education, no money, no family or friends, and no where to go. With no life skills they are easy prey for human trafficking and often resort to prostitution and theft as a way of life. Many will choose suicide. But today it is not too late for them. If you can not offer them a place in your family, could you help another family do the same by partnering with them financially?
